Every healthcare service is experiencing unprecedented challenges. In this context, leaders require exceptional skills to lead themselves, their employees and teams to peak performance.

This program provides detailed knowledge and practical skills in leadership of yourself and others. It also explores the relationship between leadership, management and an understanding of the dynamics of organisational life.

This training is relevant whether you are preparing yourself for a future leadership role or looking for an opportunity to further consolidate your leadership skills.

  • The 5 key areas covered include:

    1. Leadership and Management & Leadership Key Competencies Framework

    • Examine the key principles of effective leadership and management

    • Present contemporary frameworks and useful models of leadership

    • Explore the challenges of stepping into authority and utilising personal agency

    • Build on a comprehensive leadership competency framework, assisting participants to identify their own leadership strengths, the competencies required in their current roles and opportunities for further development

    2. Self-Leadership and Leader Resilience

    • Explores skills vital to high performance, self leadership and resilience in leaders and their staff

    • Addresses frameworks and strategies for building resilience and burnout prevention

    • Identify signature strengths and their application to workplace roles and performance

    3. Psychological Safety 

    • Explore the research base of psychological safety, and why it is critical for quality healthcare, professional learning, high performance and teamwork

    • Address the steps and strategies health leaders can take to build psychological safety within their teams and services

    4. Build Emotional Intelligence

    • Presents an internationally recognised model of Emotional Intelligence, which will be immediately practical and useful to participants for self management and staff management

    • Understand ways to build an emotionally intelligent workforce

    5. Bring out the best in others – Building development focussed relationships

    • Understand the key skills in bringing out the best in each staff member, building authentic relationships that enable and support developmental conversations and build performance

    • Examine the 5 crucial conversations for leaders that can be used for managing staff and managing performance, managing up and managing relationships with peers and managers

    • Explore strategies for giving empowering and useful feedback

  • Comprehensive Workbook and Resources

    As part of the training, you will receive a comprehensive workbook. It contains all of the workshop material, practical tools and frameworks. After the workshop you will be provided an extensive list of resources, references and links to some excellent videos. These are to help you utilise and consolidate the important concepts covered in the training which you can share with colleagues and your workplace. 

    Embedding Program: A 12 - month resource

    In addition to the training itself, an embedding program is included as part of the package. The embedding program consists of 25 emails sent fortnightly over a 12 month period to remind participants of the key learnings from the training. Participants can sign up for the embedding program at anytime after the program.

    Certificates

    Certificates of attendance will be emailed within a week of the workshop.

  • Cancellation Policy

    Cancellations may be received in writing up to 4 weeks ahead. If you need to cancel up until that time, you will receive a refund, less a 10% processing fee. If you are unable to attend the workshop, you are welcome to pass on your place to a colleague. 

    Copyright Reminder

    You are very welcome to share the learnings from this training in your local workplace to upskill the capability of the workforce, in a way that respects Michelle’s copyright and intellectual property.
