Getting the Most out of Supervision

Would you like to get more from your own supervision?

Are you keen to have a better understanding of how to prepare and drive your supervision?

Would you like to be clearer on your own learning goals to more strategically drive your professional and career development?

Supervisees aren’t always clear about what is expected of them or understand how to drive supervision or articulate their learning goals. We also don’t always understand what to expect from our supervisors and how to ask for what is needed in supervision.

Participating in supervision is a great opportunity to build clinical and professional wisdom and skills, to build confidence, professional identity and to maximise professional learning and development. Being able to lead your own supervision will help you to develop supervision skills for a time when you are supervising others.

This full day session provides the frameworks and skills to assist supervisees to maximise their learning. The session provides practical skill building opportunities for supervisee's at various levels of experience; including:

  • understanding the context of supervision as part of an on-going learning and development journey

  • skills in developing and defining learning goals

  • supervision that is focussed on the supervisee’s learning needs

  • understanding how to navigate proactive and reactive learning goals

  • ways to build an engaging supervisory relationship

  • how to contribute to a solid contracting process

  • how to prepare for and feel empowered to drive supervision
