Giving and receiving feedback can be the trickiest conversations we have to navigate at work.

If feedback conversations are managed well, they can be pivotal in supporting optimal learning and development in our colleagues.

This Feedback Conversations Masterclass explores the 4 critical elements to provide empowering and constructive feedback:

  1. Manage ourselves well, so we are solid, not wobbly, or fearful about giving feedback

  2. Build collegial relationships that can handle feedback well

  3. Develop a solid preparation process for proving feedback

  4. Explore a clear strategy for providing positively impactful feedback

This is a highly practical session that will enable you to apply the learning immediately to your own professional situations.

Getting the Most out of Supervision

Getting the Most out of Supervision

Would you like to get more from your own supervision?

Are you keen to have a better understanding of how to prepare and drive your supervision?

Would you like to be clearer on your own learning goals to more strategically drive your professional and career development?

Supervisees aren’t always clear about what is expected of them or understand how to drive supervision or articulate their learning goals. We also don’t always understand what to expect from our supervisors and how to ask for what is needed in supervision.

Participating in supervision is a great opportunity to build clinical and professional wisdom and skills, to build confidence, professional identity and to maximise professional learning and development. Being able to lead your own supervision will help you to develop supervision skills for a time when you are supervising others.

This full day session provides the frameworks and skills to assist supervisees to maximise their learning. The session provides practical skill building opportunities for supervisee's at various levels of experience; including:

  • understanding the context of supervision as part of an on-going learning and development journey

  • skills in developing and defining learning goals

  • supervision that is focussed on the supervisee’s learning needs

  • understanding how to navigate proactive and reactive learning goals

  • ways to build an engaging supervisory relationship

  • how to contribute to a solid contracting process

  • how to prepare for and feel empowered to drive supervision

Caring Costs Book Launch

I have just completed a new book!

It is called Caring Costs: Addressing the Cost of Caring in Heathcare.

Best part is that it will be FREE - yes absolutely NO COST.

I would love to have you join us for my BOOK LAUNCH at 4.30pm Thursday 24 October.

Please register using the button below to join me for the launch event.

Following the Caring Coats webinar and conversation series I ran in July and August of this year, where over 560 people registered and provided me with insights into their individual experiences, I felt compelled to create a book to honour them.

Join us for a discussion exploring the vital themes presented in the book, featuring insights from leading specialists in the healthcare industry.

This event promises a deep and meaningful conversation about the realities healthcare workers face and the steps we can take to address their concerns.

Date: Thursday 24 October,

Time: 4.30pm-5.30pm (Melbourne time)

Venue: Via Zoom

Panelists: Amazing panelists to be announced soon!

Why did I write this book?

The Book - Caring Costs - Addressing the Cost of Caring in Healthcare

Drawing on powerful survey responses and interviews with healthcare professionals, this book delves into the challenges of sustainability, burnout, moral injury, and the toxic systems that undermine wellbeing. But it's not just about the problems. This book offers a vision of hope, providing practical pathways for individual wellbeing and team transformation.

The book itself will be available for FREE to all via downloadable PDF following the launch event.

Why I Wrote This Book:

In July and August, I held a series of four free webinars. The response was overwhelming, with over 560 participants signing up. During the registration process, many shared their personal concerns and questions, providing a raw glimpse into the daily struggles and emotional toll healthcare professionals endure. Their voices were powerful and heartbreaking, revealing the urgent need for support, understanding, and change.

Caring Costs is my attempt to honour their stories and acknowledge the suffering healthcare providers face. This book not only validates their experiences but also offers practical strategies and a hopeful outlook for the future.

Register now to reserve your spot and be part of this essential dialogue in healthcare.

Getting the Most out of Supervision with Renee Arnott

FREE Webinar - Navigating Moral Injury

In light of the impact of healthcare budget cuts in Victoria and the NDIS landscape, Michelle feels compelled to raise awareness of ‘moral injury’ as it encompasses the impacts that external events can have on our mental, psychological and spiritual well-being.

When she shared a newsletter recently amongst my network, she was humbled to learn that people were able to utilise this concept and research to validate their experience:

"Thank you so much for filling the need I had for labelling the feelings I am experiencing. Moral injury describes this sadness and disappointment that I am feeling... It seems that many people are not sure what to do in the workplace, so I am sharing your article with my colleagues. Thank you again."

Please join her at this free 45-minute webinar where she will explore questions including:

  • What is moral injury?

  • How is it different from vicarious trauma?

  • What are the emerging approaches to navigating moral injury?

While she is not a researcher in moral injury, she has been studying workforce wellbeing, mentally healthy and psychologically safe workplaces, burnout, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and moral injury for decades.

Feedback Conversations Masterclass

Giving and receiving feedback can be the trickiest conversations we have to navigate at work.

If feedback conversations are managed well, they can be pivotal in supporting optimal learning and development in our colleagues.

However, they can be very difficult and even triggering for both people involved, or be damaging to your collegial relationships. As a result, we may avoid giving feedback and lose out on the excellent benefits that they can provide.

Self-Leadership: Women in Health

How well do you lead yourself?

We all look for exceptional leadership externally, but forget to be the best leaders to ourselves.

Most of us have never been given a clear approach to lead ourselves well, or had role models that demonstrate inspiring self-leadership.

That’s why it’s important to take the time to build the necessary frameworks and skills for strong self-leadership and become a more empowered professional.

In today’s complex workplace experiencing continual change and challenge, leaders and employees benefit from developing superior self-leadership and self-management skills to maximise their potential and to contribute productively to their team.
Although familiar with the concept of leading others, leading oneself can be a game-changer.

The program includes:

  • Deepening skills and understanding of self- awareness, self-leadership and self-management

  • Exploring the personal, professional and workplace ramifications of not leading or managing yourself well

  • Building skills and strategies for increasing personal agency

  • Building autonomy and empowerment to manage workload and productivity

  • Apply understanding of the brain to manage conflict and emotional triggers

Michelle Bihary leads this powerful, practical and engaging program to help you drive your career more confidently by bringing together her wisdom of more than 30 years experience in mental health, neuroscience, emotional intelligence, positive psychology, resilience, coaching, mentoring and leadership.

Surrounded by like-minded women experiencing similar challenges in the disrupted healthcare context.
