I wrote this guide because I wanted to put the evidence directly into your hands. Rather than presenting only my perspective on what good supervision looks like, I wanted to explore the research base beneath it, examine the barriers that consistently undermine supervision, and offer a clear model for distinguishing supervision that is genuinely generative from supervision that is quietly becoming a box-ticking exercise, or worse, a hidden psychosocial hazard.
